BUFFALO (WGGB) — Seven players on the Patriots 53-man roster have been listed as inactive ahead of Sunday’s Week 1 match-up with the Buffalo Bills.
Bill Belichick already revealed that star tight-end Rob Gronkowski would not make the trip to Buffalo, as he continues to recover from offseason surgeries.
Rookie wide receiver Aaron Dobson is inactive Sunday. An inexperienced receiving corps will have to carry the load against the bills, including rookie wide receivers Kenbrell Tompkins and Josh Boyce, along with tight end Zach Sudfeld.
Sudfeld will likely see an increased role, filling in for the injured Gronkowski.
Newly re-signed running back Leon Washington is also inactive, as will Brandon Bolden. The Patriots will still have three active backs, led by Stevan Ridley.
Duron Harmon, Nate Ebner, and Will Svitek round out the list of inactives for the Patriots on Sunday.
Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. eastern time from Orchard Park, New York.
