Lawyers’ group sets up help line for veterans

veteranBOSTON (AP) — The Boston Bar Association has set up a legal help line for veterans, military personnel and their families.

The help line was established to connect callers to attorneys offering reduced fee and free legal assistance or referrals to the appropriate government or nonprofit agency. Lawyers who have elected to take these cases are trained to help with the unique legal issues faced by members of the military and their families.

The Military Legal Help Line can be reached at 617-742-0625 or 800-552-7046.

The bar association is a nonprofit, voluntary membership organization of 10,000 attorneys from private practices, corporations, government agencies, legal aid organizations, the courts and law schools.
