NEW SALEM, Mass. (WGGB) – The National Weather Service in Taunton confirmed on Saturday that it was a waterspout that was spotted over the Quabbin Reservoir on Sunday, September 1st.
ABC-40 viewer Joe Stafford snapped the picture during a thunderstorm at approximately 6:25 pm, while working at Quabbin.
The NWS says that the water spout was approximately 30 feet wide, but was very short lived.
