Report US Spied on Brazil State Oil Company
BRASILIA, Brazil (AP) — A Brazilian news organization says new round of documents leaked by former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden show that the U.S. spied on Brazil’s state oil company.
The report on the website of Globo television did not give details of the allegation. But the station indicated it would add information during a Sunday night program featuring U.S. journalist Glenn Greenwald, who has been reporting on the Snowden documents. He said last week that the documents showed that U.S. spy agencies had monitored the president of Brazil, as well as Mexico’s new president prior to his election.
Offices of the Petrobras oil company were closed on Sunday and officials could not be reached for comment.
