UMass Cancels Dance Party Over Drug Concerns

UMasssealSPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — UMass officials have announced they’re calling off an electronic music dance party out of concerns about the drug known as Molly.

MDMA, the official name for the drug, is to blame for several recent deaths at electronic dance parties in New England and New York.

The Return of Fantazia dance party had been scheduled for September 21st at the Mullins Center.

University officials also sent an e-mail to students warning them of the dangers of Molly and reminding them that it is prohibited on campus.
