The Big E 4-H/FFA Day recognizes the work of young farmers and hopes to encourage young people to take an interest in agriculture.
“Agriculture is what feeds everyone,” said participant Bailey Basiel, “and knowing how to have a nice quality animal increases agricultural yield as well.”
She, like many at today’s 4-H event, is also a member of the Future Farmers of America.
The group held competitions livestock and produce, featuring cows among several other displays.
There was information available to the public on what opportunities are available to young kids and how they can get involved.
