They hoped to raise as much money as they could to better allow them to help animals and pets in need.
The group welcomed waves of donors Saturday, while selling a variety of baked goods.
Organizer Jessecah Gower says the fundraiser is a huge help. ”We usually raise about $1,000 to $2,000 and we’re always hoping for more and shooting for higher, but that is typically what we bring in,” Gower said.
And many people who came by to help out were those who had gotten their pets from the T.J. O’Connor foundation.
John Spindle brought his dog that was once rescued by T.J. O’Connor and felt he needed to give back. After donating more than 125 cans, he said, ”I had been promising them to somebody at work, but when I drove by and saw the sign the other day on my way home, I said no this is a better cause. Definitely a better cause.”
