Two Victims Identified After Overnight Shooting in Holyoke

download (4)download (5)HOLYOKE (WGGB) — Holyoke Police have identified the two men shot and killed Saturday morning in the Churchill section of the city.

Police say Chicopee resident Richard Alequin-Hernandez, age 25, and Holyoke resident Jose Santiago, 20, were killed in the shooting. Police have not made any arrests.

Holyoke Police tell ABC40 that at 2:04am on Saturday they received multiple calls for shots fired in the Churchill section of the city.

When police officers arrived on scene at Chestnut and Sargeant Streets, they found the two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One man was in the area of Chestnut Park, the other in an alleyway adjacent to the park.

They were pronounced dead a short time later.

The Holyoke Criminal Investigations Bureau are actively pursuing the investigation alongside the Hampden County State Police Detective Unit, and State Police Crime Scene Unit.
