PALMER/MONSON, Mass. (WGGB) — Power has been restored to over 5,800 customers who lost power in Monson and Palmer late Tuesday morning.
Just before noon Tuesday, about 3,300 customers in Monson and about 2,500 customers in Palmer lost power. Outages were also reported in Wales and Brimfield.
National Grid spokesperson Deborah Drew tells ABC40 that while they don’t have an exact cause yet, the company believes the outage was a result of a problem with a piece of equipment at the Palmer substation.
Drew adds that power was restored to all those impacted by the outage around 1:00 p.m.
