Longtime Look Park, Northampton Rec. Director Ray Ellerbrook Dies at 65

(WGGB) — A man synonymous with local sports and recreation has died.

Ray Ellerbrook died Wednesday night at his home in Northampton.

Ellerbrook ran the recreation department in Northampton for years, before becoming the director at Look Park.

He stayed in the area after attending UMass, where he played basketball along side Julius Erving, as well as baseball for the Minutemen.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Czelusniak Funeral Home in Northampton.

A celebration of Ellerbrook’s life will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Ray Ellerbrook Field on Burts Pitt Road.

Ellerbrook was 65 years old.
