One of her most recent warrants stems from a party last December in Springfield.
“The victim was not at home at the time,” says Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney. “The niece had some friends over, one of them was Kendall Staples.”
Delaney adds, “She went into the bedroom, stole his checkbook and then a couple of days later she went crazy writing checks in the amount of $4,400 — made the checks out to her friends — her friends went and cashed them and this was all caught on tape through the Citizens Bank.”
After questioning the victim’s niece and reviewing the bank’s surveillance video, Springfield Police determined Staples was the mastermind behind the check forging scheme.
“She’s wanted for uttering false checks, five counts of that, and larceny by scheme,” says Delaney.
Springfield Police say Staples is also wanted in connection to a shoplifting case and an assault case. She currently has addresses in Springfield and Chicopee.
If you see Kendall Staples, call 911 or you can send police an anonymous tip. Just text it to “CRIMES” or 274637 and in the message type “SOLVE” and your tip.
