Investigation Leads to Arrest of 2 Easthampton Women on Drug Charges

EASTHAMPTON, Mass. (WGGB) — Two Easthampton women have been arrested and are facing drug charges following an investigation by police over the last several months.

Police say they’ve taken 54-year-old, Marcella Severance of 175 Pleasant Street and 38-year-old, Heather Martinez of 7 Berkeley Street into custody today.

The Easthampton Police Department and the Northwestern District Attorney’s Anti-Crime Task Force had been investigating Marcella and today delivered a search warrant at her home.

During the search, police say they found approximately 97 grams of pure cocaine, Percocet pills, Suboxone pills and other drug related paraphernalia.  They say the street value of the cocaine seized was about $4,850.00

Marcella Severance has been charged with Cocaine Trafficking, 28-100 grams.  Heather Martinez is facing charges including possession of a Class B Substance (2 counts) and Percocet and Suboxone Without a Prescription.

According to Mary Carey with the Northwestern DA’s Office, Severance was held on $5,000 bail and Martinez is expected to post a $500 bail.  Both are to be arraigned in Northampton District Court on Monday, Sept. 23 at 9:00 a.m.
