One Person in Hospital After Hit-and-Run in Springfield


SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WGGB) — One person is in the hospital and another person behind bars after an early morning hit-and-run.

Police say that shortly after 12:30 a.m. Friday a person walking was hit by a car at the corner of Boston Road and Pasco Road in Springfield.

The driver then sped off, according to police, only to be found a few minutes later at the Wal-Mart on Boston Road. The driver was then arrested for an OUI.

The pedestrian that was struck was then taken to Baystate Medical Center for treatment. They suffered minor injuries and are expected to be okay.

    Another one?? Isn’t this like the 3rd hit and run in Springfield in like that past week? Anyone who hits a person and leaves the scene should be subject to mandatory license revocation for life – especially when alcohol and/or drugs are involved.
