Catherine Zeta-Jones may not have accompanied her estranged husband Michael Douglas to the Emmy Awards on Sunday, but that’s not to say she didn’t walk a red carpet over the weekend.

In her first public appearance since she and Douglas announced their separation in August, Zeta-Jones attended an event in China’s Shendong province to announce the launch of a new film studio there and a new Chinese film festival, People reports. Other celebrity attendees included Leonardo DiCaprioNicole Kidman and John Travolta, according to People.

Meanwhile, at the Emmys, Douglas seemed to imply that there’s still hope for the couple to reconcile. In his acceptance speech for Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie for his performance as Liberace in HBO’s Behind the Candelabra, he made a point of thanking “my wife, Catherine.”

Douglas and Zeta-Jones were married in 2000 and have two children together, Dylan, 13, and Carys, 10.
