Westfield’s Ward 4 City Council Race Narrowed to O’Connell and Burns

VoteWESTFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Westfield held a preliminary election today for its Ward 4 City Council seat that three residents were vying for.

According to the Westfield City Clerk’s Office,  Mary O’Connell took in 326 votes, Michael Burns received 200 votes and 37 residents were in favor of John Michaliszyn.

That leaves O’Connell and Burns to continue on the campaign trail in their efforts to be chosen for the job.

Out of a total of 3,802 voters, 565 went to the polls today. That’s 15% of residents in Ward 4 in precincts A and B.

Voters will make their final selection at the polls come November.
