ABC40 Honor Roll – Students Start Day Off on “Right Foot”

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) –  Students at The Brookings Elementary School in Springfield now begin their day off on “The Right Foot.” Before the school day begins students tie up their sneakers and get ready to take part in the “100 mile club.”

It’s a new exercise program as part of the “Active Schools Acceleration Project,” which is geared towards getting students active. The “100 mile club” meets on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Inside the school there is a map that illustrates how many miles the kids have walked or ran collectively. Over 100 students have signed up to join the “100 mile club.”
