Driver in US Capitol Car Chase Identified as Conn. Woman
STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) — A driver who led police on a car chase from the White House to the U.S. Capitol before being shot to death has been identified as a woman from Stamford, Conn.
Law enforcement authorities say the driver was Miriam Carey. The authorities spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because aren’t authorized to divulge her name.
Mayor Michael Pavia says the FBI executed a search warrant in the city on Thursday in connection with the deadly Washington car chase.
Police officers have cordoned off a condominium building and the surrounding neighborhood in the shoreline city. Condo resident Eric Bredow says police told him the driver in the car chase was one of his neighbors.
