AMHERST, Mass. (WGGB) — UMass has announced plans for a public gathering to remember and celebrate the life and legacy of late softball coach Elaine Sortino.

Members of the public and UMass community, as well as former student-athletes and colleagues, are invited to the free event scheduled for Sunday at 1:00 p.m at the Mullins Center.

Sortino died in August after a battle with cancer.

Those attending are being asked to wear their favorite UMass apparel.
