Springfield Police Investigate Downtown Bank Robbery
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Police are investigating the afternoon robbery of a bank in Downtown Springfield.
Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney says that at 1:50 p.m., a man walked into Nuvo Bank on Main Street, approached the teller, implied he had a gun, and demanded money.
The suspect then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen heading east on Bridge Street.
Officers searched the area, but was unable to locate the man.
The suspect in Thursday’s robbery is described as a black man, in his 40′s, clean shaven with a “sunken face.” He has a medium build, and was last seen wearing a red jacket with blue stripes on the sleeves, green camouflage pants, and black shoes.
Delaney adds that “The description of this bank robber matches the description of the bank robber from earlier this week on State Street.”
