Rays of Hope Walk Kicks Off this Sunday

rays of hope logoSPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – Thousands of walkers and runners will be lacing up their sneakers this coming Sunday for the annual Rays of Hope Walk.

This year, Rays of Hope is celebrating its 20th anniversary in Springfield and 5th anniversary in Greenfield with walks on Sunday, October 20th.

Since the event began in 1994, Rays of Hope has raised$11.08 million, all of which has stayed in the community.  Money raised from the Raise of Hope Walk goes to offering community education and outreach for breast cancer, providing advanced breast cancer care at the initial stage of diagnosis and continuing through treatment and recovery.

Money raised also goes towards supporting survivors through their care and funding local breast cancer research.
