SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Springfield Police are saying that a man accused of trying to rob a Pride gas station on East Columbus Avenue Wednesday morning is related to recent bank robberies in the city.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney says that Curtis Garrett has been charged with the robbery of a gas station back in September.

Garrette is also being charged for allegedly robbing the United Bank on State Street on October 8 and Nuvo Bank on Main Street on October 10.

In all four cases, he implied that he had a handgun in his shirt.

It’s possible that the 60-year-old could face several other charges before the investigation is over, Delaney adds.

Garrett is being held at the Hampden County House of Correction in Ludlow following his arraignment Wednesday.
