Police Investigate Shooting in Holyoke

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — Police are investigating an early evening shooting in Holyoke.

Holyoke Police say that at 5:16PM, they responded to a call for shots fired at 82 1/2 Clemente Street, near the intersection of Clemente and Cabot Streets.

When officers arrived, they found two men injured in a vacant lot near the intersection. Those people were taken to area hospitals with gunshot wounds to their arms. Both men are expected to survive.

Lieutenant Jim Albert told ABC40 that the two victims are related and police are looking for a suspect.

Albert described the daylight shooting, which was across from a daycare center and an apartment high rise, as “brazen.”

21 shell casings were found on the scene.

Police say witnesses were uncooperative and they are looking for the public’s help.
