SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A poodle that was found abandoned at a Springfield construction site last week is available for adoption.
The 3-year-old dog, who folks at Dakin Humane Society have named “Buffy”, was found inside a plastic shopping bag at a construction site and was quite emaciated.
Since her story surfaced last week, Dakin has received over 100 requests to adopt “Buffy.”
While her condition has been improving, Dakin spokesperson Candy Lash says that “Buffy” is a special needs dog, because she is fearful of people she doesn’t know and may have some ongoing health issues.
Because of these issues, Lash explains that Dakin has created an application for perspective families interested in “Buffy,” which is separate from a standard dog application.
Applications will be accepted for three days only: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of this week.
All qualified applicants will be put into a random drawing and one applicant will be picked by lottery on Friday.
For more information on “Buffy” or an application, you can visit Dakin’s website.
