Men Accused of Cheating Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun
MASHANTUCKET, Conn. (AP) — Two men arrested earlier this year on cheating allegations at the Mohegan Sun casino have been charged with carrying out the same scam at the Foxwoods Resort Casino.
Thirty-two-year-old Chaoyu Wu of Brooklyn, N.Y., and 39-year-old Tan Guo Yu of Boston were first arrested in June. At the time, police said one man distracted a dealer while the other swapped tiles to improve his hand in a game known as pai gow.
Connecticut state police say their investigation found they cheated at both casinos, which are a few miles apart in southeastern Connecticut. The men were charged Tuesday with new crimes including fourth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit cheating.
Both men were released on bond. Neither could be reached for comment. Arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 7.
