SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – A power outage in the Forest Park area of Springfield left nearly a thousand residents without power Tuesday morning. That number has since fallen to just over 300.
A representative from WMECO told ABC40 that the outage, which occurred just after 3 Tuesday morning, was caused by an unknown issue with the underground equipment in the area. They have crews on the scene attempting to troubleshoot and fix the issue, and say they are hoping to have power restored later this morning.
We will have more information on the cause of the outage as it becomes available.
