SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A Ludlow man and his wife are heading to Fenway tonight for Game 2 of the World Series after winning the 40 in the Morning World Series Ticket Contest.

Gregory Pietras of Ludlow saw the cue to call-in on Thursday’s 40 in the Morning, was the tenth caller, and won two tickets.

Thursday is doubly special for Pietras. Not only did he win the tickets to tonight’s game, Thursday also marks his 26th wedding anniversary.

Pietras says he intended to keep the tickets a surprise gift for his wife.

“After I won, I planned on coming to get the tickets and putting them in an anniversary card and surprising her, but she woke up like 30 seconds before they announced my name on the TV and she saw my name flash across the TV, and she was like ‘What?’ and then I had to tell her. She was thrilled. We can’t wait to go,” Pietras explains.

Congratulations to the Pietras’ and here’s hoping for another Sox win.

You can catch every pitch and every play of Game 2 and every game of the World Series, only on FOX 6.

I almost pooped my pants when I saw him and her in that pic, and at first thought THAT’S his wife???? My first thought was “he’s a multi millionaire, yep that’s gotta be it”. Glad it was a mistake.
