Monson Police Need Help Identifying Attackers


MONSON, Mass. (WGGB)  — The Monson Police Department needs the public’s help identifying three individuals involved in a hate crime Sunday night.

Police took a report from a female Monday afternoon who said she was walking near the intersection of State Street and Gates street around 11 p.m. Sunday when she was approached by three white males. The individuals allegedly approached her from behind and began making comments regarding sexual orientation. One suspect punched her in the face, causing her to fall to the ground. He is described as having a brown colored beard but no mustache. After the attack the individuals ran off towards Cushman Street.

All three suspects appeared to be in their teens to early 20s, approximately 5’5 tall with slim builds. They were wearing dark colored hooded sweatshirts and jeans.
