Noho ‘Paints the Path Pink’ for Breast Cancer Awareness

Health-Breast CancerNORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WGGB) — Folks in Northampton painted the town pink Thursday evening.

That’s because the Northampton Health Department partnered with Cooley Dickinson Hospital for ‘Paint The Path Pink’.

Mayor David Narkewicz, along with a group of walkers, took a stroll from City Hall to the hospital – about 1 and a half miles.

Along the way – they handed out pink ribbons and placed pink bows on the telephone poles.

“We all know that October is breast cancer awareness month but what we wanted to put out there today was we wanted to line the telephone poles with pink ribbons as we walked up and what we were trying to signify is the path to prevention,” said Meredith O’Leary of the Northampton Health Department.

After the walk, the hospital held a reception and breast cancer seminar for participants.

Staff was also on hand to set up appointments for mammograms.
