BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WGGB) - Chestnut Hill Community School in Belchertown celebrated National Mix it Up Day.
Chestnut Hill along with countless other schools across the country participated in an effort to promote peace, tolerance and acceptance of others students were randomly seated at the lunch tables, musical selections were played, and teachers helped facilitate conversations around the cafeteria.
The goal was to come together as a school community and teach students that taking the risk to cross social boundaries is a good thing. Getting to know one another better is just one way to help prevent bullying and enhance a positive school atmosphere.
