Springfield Police Make Arrest After Chasing Suspect on 291

police car 2SPRINGFIELD (WGGB) — A routine traffic stop turned into a police chase Saturday afternoon in Springfield.

Police say they attempted to pull over 23-year-old Eduardo Gonzalez of Springfield for speeding around 2:00 p.m., when he sped away along 291 eastbound.

After leaving the highway at exit 5, police continued to chase him at exit 4 of 291 heading west.

At exit 4, police say he hit another car, causing minor damage. Gonzalez then got out of his car and ran from the scene.

Police caught him around Tapley St. He has been charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, among several other charges.

    I wonder what the other charges are? Only the guilty run if they have something to hide. I hope the occupant of the other car he hit escaped injuries. What an idiot!
