HOLYOKE, Mass. (WGGB) — About 600 bikers hit the road Sunday afternoon for Brightside’s Toy Run.
The Widows Sons Stone Cutter Chapter of the Masonic Riders Association collected and donated hundreds of toys to the children of Brightside. They rode with the toys from Walmart in Chicopee to Brightside in Holyoke.
Bruce Rivest is one of the organizers of the event and since he was adopted from Brightside as a child it means a lot to him to give back.
“I’m floored, I really am. I think it was a great turn out. There’s just so many people who know Brightside, and what kind of organization it is and the good they do for the community. They were so receptive to give back to them, it wasn’t even funny,” said Rivest.
And Brightside is grateful for the donations.
“We couldn’t be happier. It was an amazing day. We’re going to make a lot of children happy this Christmas,” said Mark Paglia of Brightside.
This is the event’s second year and the turn out was more than double last year’s turnout.
