AGAWAM, Mass. (WGGB) – The folks at Six Flags New England helped with a holiday cause Sunday in Agawam.
They hosted a toy drive to benefit the YMCA of Greater Springfield.
Those who donated toys recieved more than 20-dollars off of the admission price for a day at the park.
And the visitors to the park weren’t the only ones to help out.
“We’re actually going to be presenting the YMCA with a special gift, $5,000 check. They don’t know about it, so we’re really excited to give it to them. Along with, we’re also going to donate over 100 toys, games dolls and a whole bunch of exciting things for them. So it’s going to be a really exciting surprise,” said Jennifer McGrath of Six Flags.
“Being here from Springfield and Western Massachusetts, the YMCA was a big part of my life, especially in athletics…so just being able to do something like this also gives me a good feeling to be able to help out,” said Ron Brace, a former New England Patriots player.
Sunday was the final day that Six Flags New England would be open this year.
