Investigators Release Name of Woman Killed in Deerfield Crash

DEERFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Investigators have released the names of two drivers involved in a head-on crash in Deerfield.

Mary Carey, spokesperson for the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, says that 83-year-old Celia Allen of Montague and 19-year-old Aaron Stark of South Deerfield were driving separate vehicles when they collided head-on Monday afternoon on River Road in Deerfield.

Allen was pronounced dead at the scene. Stark was taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash caused River Road to be closed for several hours Monday.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

She was a very nice lady who I have known for over 35 years. She will be sadly missed by all. As to overage drivers, until they teach young drivers that a stop sign doesn t mean a place to text and use their cell phones a yellow light doesn t mean stomp on it and if the next 3 cars in line can t hear your music it s too soft this middle aged driver that pays more for her insurance because of these young drivers says the minimum age for driving should be 25 and if anyone is caught texting while driving they should get a suspended license for 90 days and a 1000 dollar fine. A few examples of this and the probelm would be solved.
