Two Western Mass. Men Arrested for Conn. Car Break-Ins

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. (WGGB) —  Two men from Springfield and Holyoke are behind bars in connection with a string of break-ins in Connecticut.

Our affiliate FOX CT reports that Eric V. Johnson, 32 of Alice Street in Springfield was arrested Friday on a warrant charging him with more than 20 conspiracy to commit burglary and larceny charges.

Johnson is behind bars on $35,000 bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Manchester Superior Court on Monday. Police also arrested Andrew Dupree, 20, of Holyoke back in August, which led to the arrest of Johnson after a police interview.

Police say Johnson and Dupree were two of three suspects who used Google Maps to find wealth neighborhoods to target. Police say the suspects would then park in those neighborhoods and go through unlocked cars to find items to take.

Police have tied the suspects to several burglaries in the Connecticut towns of South Windsor, Glastonbury, Bloomfiled and Vernon.
