SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A third grader at Rebecca Johnson School in Springfield is facing disciplinary action.

She brought a toy gun to school on Wednesday and reportedly showed the toy to her friends in the bathroom.

They, in turn, told their teacher.

Azell Cavaan, the Chief Communications Officer for Springfield Public Schools, says anything involving a gun, even a toy, falls under a code of conduct already decided by Springfield’s school district.

Details of the discipline were not released.
