BOSTON, Mass. (WGGB) — The FBI office in Boston is offering a reward for information leading to the recovery of two weapons reported stolen from the agency.

The FBI says that the two weapons – a Colt M16-A1 rifle and a HS Precision Pro-Series 2000 Sniper Rifle – were stolen out of an FBI SWAT vehicle that was parked in Andover between Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

According to the FBI, other items were reported stolen from other vehicles in nearby homes during that same time frame.

The FBI says that the reward would be up to $20,000 and that they continue to devote “significant resources” to find the weapons, as well as working to figure out who took them.

Local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies across the state have also been alerted to the theft.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call FBI Boston at (617) 742-5533 or the Andover Police Department at (978) 475-0411
