Sean Saves the World

NBC has ordered five more episodes of Sean Saves the World, Deadline.com reports.

That brings the freshman comedy’s first season to 18 episodes, four shy of the usual network 22-episode order. Despite boasting Will & Grace alum Sean Hayes and a prime Thursday-at-9/8c timeslot, the sitcom has struggled in the ratings, averaging only 3.88 million viewers.

9 bubble shows: Which will survive?

However, the most recent episode rose to a series-high viewership following a special Thursday installment of The Voice. On a night among mostly new comedies, Sean Saves the World will fall short of fellow Thursday laugher, The Michael J. Fox Show, which started with a 22-episode order, but will stretch far beyond Welcome to the Family, which lasted just three episodes.
