Man Beaten Outside Springfield Club

Police2-300x225SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – One man is hospitalized this morning after police say he was beaten with a tire iron outside a Springfield club.

It happened just before 2 a.m. Saturday morning outside the Chessmen Lounge on Dwight Street in Springfield.

Springfield Police say three men were arguing outside. When the 48-year-old victim told them to move along, one of the men pulled out the tire iron, and began beating him with it.

The victim was transported to Baystate Medical center. His condition is currently unknown.

Police say the three men fled the scene.

    Three against one, and they still needed a tire iron? Sounds like three drunken cowards. But hey OTOH if you want to play cop at 2AM and tell people to move along, then expect to get a beating or much worse. Drunks tend to turn mean when the cutoff hour comes and they have no more booze.
