Victim Identified in Deadly Granby Crash
GRANBY, Mass. (WGGB) — Police have identified a man killed in a crash Friday in Granby.
Around 11:30 p.m. Friday, Granby Police responded to the area of 7 Harris Street out after several calls came in that a car had crashed.
Granby Police Sgt. Gary Poehler adds that when emergency crews arrived, they found that one car had crashed into a tree and the driver suffering from serious injuries.
Poehler identifies the driver of that car as 17-year-old Nathan Curran of Belchertown.
Curran was taken to Baystate Medical Center later died from his injuries.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the car was travelling southbound on Harris Street when it left the road on the right shoulder and hit the tree. However, the crash remains under investigation by Granby Police and members of the Mass. State Police Accident Reconstruction Team.
