W. Springfield Gets Pumped Up for State Soccer Tourney with Pep Rally

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — A big game tonight at West Springfield High School.

The school held a pep rally Tuesday afternoon to congratulate the boys soccer team on winning the Division I Western Mass. title.

They’ll move on to play in the state tournament next.

Coach Nick Gumlaw talked about how important the rally was before the big game. “Oh, they’re pretty pumped up, as you can tell here. We’ve got a lot of community backing, school backing, even the teachers at the middle school. Everybody’s going to the game. It’s nice to see,” he says.

The team plays in the state semi-final game at 7:45 p.m. at Westfield State against Wachusett Regional.
