Greenfield Police Respond to Armed Robbery

armed robberyGREENFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) – Greenfield Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man they say robbed a convenience store at gunpoint Friday evening.

Lt. Dan McCarthy told ABC 40 the armed robbery happened just before six p.m. at JC’s Market. The suspect was described as a young white male, six feet tall, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and a handkerchief covering his nose and mouth.

He went into the store and yielded a semi-automatic handgun while demanding money from the clerk.

He then fled the scene on foot.

Police say this incident may be linked to a similar armed robbery at the Valley Mart that happened on Tuesday. Video surveillance shows a person wearing a similar outfit.

No one was injured in this incident and it remains under investigation.

Officials are asking anyone with information to contact the Greenfield Detective’s Bureau at 413-774-3109.
