Water Back On in Agawam Following Water Main Break

AGAWAM HYDRANT LEAKFEEDING HILLS (WGGB) –The water is back on in Agawam after a large water main break caused a hydrant to leak in the Feeding Hills section of the town.

Crews from the DPW were able to repair the leak and clean up the scene just before 1a.m. Sunday.

The leak at 27 Hamilton Circle caused water to flow downhill and into the intersection of Springfield and South Westfield Streets. That water surrounded a Bank of America ATM at that intersection, and one resident said that water was running into her basement.

The leak did not cause any traffic issues, but one part of the road has given way.
