SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Fire investigators say that a house fire Monday in Springfield was intentionally set.
Dennis Leger, aide to the Springfield Fire Commissioner, says someone set fire to the home at 223 Durant Street Monday morning.
Leger adds that investigators are still working to determine who may be responsible.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries while battling the blaze. That person, Leger says, has since been treated and released from the hospital.
Nobody was home at the time.
Nine people – six adults and three children – were displaced by the fire.
The fire caused about $80,000 worth of damage.
