Break-In at South Hadley Metal Business Under Investigation

Police2-300x225SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. (WGGB) — The South Hadley Detective Bureau is currently investigating a break-in at one local business.

Police said someone broke into GG’s Custom Metals on New Ludlow Road at around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday.

The company’s alarm system went off, alerting police and the company’s owner.

“They knew what they were doing,” said Gerry Geoffrion, President of GG’s Custom Metals. He told ABC40 that whoever broke in unscrewed a metal panel on the side of the business. Fortunately nothing was taken from the business. Geoffrion says he thinks the alarm scared the burglar off.

If you saw anything suspicious in the area of 785 New Ludlow Road between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, you’re asked to call the South Hadley Detective Bureau at (413) 538-8231.
