40 Force: Southwick

SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WGGB) — Tuesday night, the 40 Force headed to Southwick.

What is 40 Force? Simply put, the 40 Force is WGGB and our neighbors, working together to make a difference in Western Massachusetts.

It’s our commitment to support the community by pooling our resources with the collective knowledge and know-how of the Pioneer Valley.

We are launching 40 Force this holiday season by highlighting the best of cities and town across Western Mass, while helping the neediest members of our region.

Tuesday night, we took the show to Southwick Town Hall to shed the spotlight on their community. We found out how conservation efforts are preserving open space in town.

We also helped raise money for the Southwick Police K-9 Unit – Officer Thomas L. Krutka and his canine partner “Jax.”

Brittany introduced us to a fantastic program at the high school, where they are holding a pie drive in an effort to help the local food pantry.

Ed was also out and about, roaming around town. He headed to a town staple – Mrs. Murphy’s Donuts, then he checked in with Mike McMahon who talked about a great free event in December – Celebrate the Season – which will be held on Sunday, December 15 at Town Hall.

Wednesday, we head to East Longmeadow. Come on down and join us at the East Longmeadow Senior Center (328 North Main Street) between 5:00 and 6:30 p.m., say hello, be on television, and join the 40 Force by supporting the senior center. (food donations will be accepted on-site).

We look forward to seeing you!
