SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — Besides shopping, there’s was a lot of fun stuff going on in Western Mass for the whole family on this very festive day after Thanksgiving.
It all started off with the Parade of Big Balloons, hosted by the Spirit of Springfield.
It kicked off this morning at Tower Square. Members of ABC40 were marching in the parade. Several marching band from area schools were also highlighted.
Of course Springfield’s own Cat in the Hat, and several of his other inflatable friends made their way through the parade.
It was all a huge treat for the crowds who braved some chilly weather to see it.
“I’ve come here every year with the kids since they were little tradition, we go into Tower Square afterwards, they have a puppet show it’s fun,” said Samantha Cowles. “And this is our first year with the kids and excited to experience it all.” Nichole Shaulis added.
ABC40 also gave you a perspective from our live truck of all the people lining the streets to see the parade go by which also streamed live to the web.
