WARE, Mass. (WGGB) – An electrical fire caused major disruptions at a Walmart in Ware Thursday.

It happened in the Gibbs Plaza and caused the entire shopping area to shut down.

The call was received just after 2:30 of smoke near the deli section. The fire broke out in the electrical room of the Walmart in that plaza and it caused power outages for the entire plaza, which housed about eight businesses.

It also caused major traffic delays on Palmer Road, and problems for some truckers driving through the area.

“I can’t get my truck out of there and get in there, period. I park there for the evening and I head out in the morning, so I’m stuck,” said truck driver Patrick Smith.

Fire crews put out the flames, the power is back on, but there is no word yet on the extent of the damage it caused. No one was injured in the blaze.
