HADLEY, Mass. (WGGB) — Last month, a fire tore through a Hadley strip mall, heavily damaging the property. Tonight, we asked you to join the 40 Force and help those people get back on their feet.
What is 40 Force? Simply put, the 40 Force is WGGB and our neighbors, working together to make a difference in Western Massachusetts.
It’s our commitment to support the community by pooling our resources with the collective knowledge and know-how of the Pioneer Valley.
We are launching 40 Force this holiday season by highlighting the best of cities and town across Western Mass, while helping the neediest members of our region.
Thursday night, the 40 Force hit Hadley. We brought you the stories of some of those impacted by the massive fire and asked you to come down and help us support the Hadley Fire Victims Fund.
Ed Carroll also headed to a longtime family farm – Cooks Farm, and checked out some of the ice cream from Flayover’s. He also checked out a different kind of hotel in town, where those on four legs are pampered.
The vocal styling of the Valley Rock Choir also brought some music and spirit to the event.
If you were not able to make it to our location but would still like to help the victims of the fire, you can donate online or mail your donation to: Hadley Relief Fund, c/o Amherst Area Chamber, 28 Amity Street, Amherst, MA 01002.
Our next 40 Force event will be Friday night. Join us as we broadcast from Court Square in Springfield from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
Come on down, say hello, be on television, and join the 40 Force by supporting Friends of the Homeless. Donations of new underwear, gloves, and white socks will be accepted on-site.
