Authorities: Missing NH Teen Sent Letter Following Disappearance
CONWAY, N.H. (WGGB) — Police in Conway, N.H. say there’s new information in the search for missing teen.
At a press conference Friday morning, local police, the office of the state’s Attorney General, and the FBI say they’re learning more about the disappearance of Abigail Hernandez.
Police say Abby’s mother received a letter on November 6 that had been written on October 22, weeks after Abby disappeared. It also appears that the letter was written by Abby.
Investigators call it their most tangible lead in the investigation.
“There have been indications, questions that maybe this is a runaway. Why would you expend these resources on a runaway? I ask you, if it were your child, as it is Zenya’s, what would you want law enforcement to do? We are going to continue to follow up,” says N.H. Associate Attorney General Jane Young.
Other than the letter, there has been no contact and authorities are concerned.
They believe that Abby is not alone and that someone may be helping her.
Neither a copy of the letter, nor information about its contents, is not being released at this time.
