Marvel’s Avengers Assemble

Marvel’s Ultimate Spider-Man is currently between seasons, but everyone’s favorite web slinger is the star attraction of Disney XD’s Marvel Universe block this Sunday, Dec. 8. Spidey guest stars on the network’s animated hits, Marvel’s Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. (8/7c) and Marvel’s Avengers Assemble (8:30/7:30c), teaming up with his fellow heroes in two separate adventures. Ultimate Spider-Man star Drake Bell provides the character’s voice in both shows. “What I like most about voicing Spidey is hearing my voice coming out of such an iconic character that I grew up with,” he says.

In Agents of S.M.A.S.H., Spider-Man’s nemesis Venom takes on Hulk and Co — with a twist. “Venom is one of the coolest and nastiest villains of all time, but you’ve never seen him like this: with the hulked-out strength and look of each of the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.,” explains Cort Lane, Marvel Television’s v.p. for animation development and production. “If the Hulk is already unstoppable, then what can the world do against a Hulk that’s been Venom-ized?”

Then, in the Avengers Assemble episode, Doctor Doom has changed history so that the Avengers never existed. In this new reality Peter Parker has become “Slinger” (pictured above) instead of Spider-Man, and he must work with the other heroes’ new aliases to reset time.
